"A woman of valor, who can find?" (Proverbs 30:10)
Generally, the term אשת חיל/Eishet Chayil ("woman of valor") refers to the dedicated wife and mother who brings spiritual light to her home. Traditional Jews sing a tribute to these women at Sabbath dinner, based on a passage from Sefer Mishlei, the Book of Proverbs. That said, scripture is replete with examples of woman of "valor" in the more commonly understood sense, from Deborah the Judge, to Yael the Tyrant-Slayer, to Esther, Queen of Persia. (Stay tuned for future Maccabee Apparel designs celebrating these bold and courageous ladies!)
Our Eishet Chayil design features a rose, a scroll with those words in Paleo-Hebrew Script, accompanied by the English translation.
Makes a unique gift for the Eishet Chayil in your life!
