Maccabee Apparel is happy to share our first celeb collaboration design, conceived by comedian Pete Barlow, creator of the popular G.I. Low comic strip.
Okay, so hear us out. "The Thing" (born Benjamin Grimm) from Marvel's Fantastic Four is a Member of the Tribe -- it's canon. The Golem is a supernatural creature brought to life by kabbalist and sage Rabbi Judah Loew (the Maharal of Prague) according to legend. Both the Golem and The Thing are big rock-like dudes famous for beating up bad guys. We were talking about this similarity with Pete, when we began to wonder, if the Thing were a golem, what would his catchphrase be? His answer was so funny, we decided it had to go on a t-shirt.
We know it's kind of a niche joke for comic book nerds familiar with Jewish lore. But that's literally our core demographic. So we hope you enjoy this as much as we do!
