Inspired by the epic deeds of Yehudah HaMakabi (aka Judas Maccabaeus, aka Judah the Hammer). The son of an Israelite priest, Judah led an insurgency in his homeland (think Red Dawn) against a vastly superior occupying army. Together, the Maccabees miraculously succeeded in liberating much of the Land of Israel and rededicating the Temple in Jerusalem. This victory, made possible only through divine grace, is still commemorated to this day with the Festival of Hanukkah.
