On the holiday of Tu B'Shevat (The New Year for Trees -- Jewish Arbor Day, basically, but more ancient), a friend once asked me which of the Seven Species of fruit for which the Land of Israel is known, was my favorite.
"Watermelon," I said.
"Watermelon is not one of the Seven Species. It's not even indigenous to Israel!"
"Huh. How odd."
